Hi! My name's Tiago and I'm from Ofir (near Oporto), north Portugal. I will be traveling to Lisbon to learn more about urban sketching from not only the instructors and speakers, but from all of the other participants too.

I'm a portuguese Urban Sketcher correspondent, a Communication Designer, and for about 3 years I'm teaching Visual Semiotics has a teacher assistant in ISMAI, an University Institution in Maia, Portugal. My academic work has been greatly about Visual Communication and in that sense, at this moment, the graphic diary is the primary focus in my investigation activity. Sketching and doodling always has been a major part of my life but, with the contact with the Urban Sketchers community, all this drawings took a great step further. Much of them are still about projects that I'm developing has a designer, but many others are about my surroundings, everyday life, people, animals, buildings, trees, the ocean, etc… My eyes and my mind are a lot more open now since I joined USk.

Nãocoisas à Vista is my personal blog where I document my urban sketching activity. Alternatively you can see my Flickr account too.

What do I expect from the Symposium…? Among other things, learning, laughs, friendship and sharing.

Thank you all for sharing your work, welcome to Portugal, best wishes and hope to see you all in Lisbon!!
